Implementing SAFe is an advanced, four-day certification course designed for professionals who are ready to lead Lean-Agile transformation at enterprise scale. Scaled Agile describes the SPC role as enabling professionals to guide Agile transformations, coach stakeholders, train leaders, and implement SAFe principles at scale. The uploaded SAFe Career Playbook also positions SPCs as catalysts for organizational agility who help launch Agile Release Trains, support key SAFe events, and foster a lasting culture of agility.

All stakeholders in a Lean-Agile transformation may attend. However, this is an advanced course, and participants pursuing the SAFe Practice Consultant certification should have strong Agile and business experience. 


Recommended experience includes: 

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product management, project management, or related fields 
  • 3+ years of Agile experience 
  • One or more relevant Agile certifications 

The SAFe Career Playbook notes that candidates become SPCs by enrolling in and completing the AI-Empowered Implementing SAFe course and then preparing for the post-course certification exam.

Designing the Implementation 

  • Identify value streams and ARTs, develop the implementation plan, and prepare the organization for rollout. 

Launching an Agile Release Train 

  • Prepare for ART launch, train teams, facilitate distributed PI Planning, and support early execution. 

Coaching ART Execution 

  • Coach Inspect and Adapt, run problem-solving workshops, and improve ART performance. 

Large Solution Integration and Delivery 

  • Understand how multiple ARTs and value streams coordinate through Solution Trains and large-solution delivery practices.
