Yes, we run public classes that anyone can register for, and we also offer private or on-site training solutions for organizations that want to train teams.

Yes. One of our differentiators is that all public SLI courses are “guaranteed to run.”

This means once a class is on the schedule, it will not be canceled due to low enrollment. For learners, this provides confidence to plan ahead, book travel, secure time off, or align team schedules, without worrying about disruptions.

For managers, it ensures training timelines stay on track and project plans aren’t delayed. Guaranteed-to-run courses offer reliability, consistency, and peace of mind in an industry where cancellations are common.

It depends on the class, but most courses include hands-on labs for practical experience. Refer to the individual course outline to determine if labs are included.

Yes. All of our courses are fully authorized by the respective technology vendors. We maintain direct partnerships with each vendor to ensure we deliver the most accurate, up-to-date, and approved curriculum available. This means our instructors use official course materials, follow certified learning paths, and provide training that aligns with current exam objectives and real-world best practices. Vendor authorization also ensures students receive recognized training credits and are best prepared for certification or on-the-job application.

Certifications and Exams

Yes. Many of our courses are certification-based, meaning they align with industry exams (e.g., Cisco, AWS, Microsoft) to help you earn professional credentials.

While we can help you train for certification, exam delivery depends on our partner testing centers. Reach out to us for details on exam scheduling or proctoring.

Typically, exams are purchased separately unless stated otherwise in the course details.

While Sunset Learning provides comprehensive training, passing the exam depends on individual effort and preparation.

You may receive a testing voucher through your employer or when you purchase a class from Sunset Learning. If you purchase a voucher through SLI, it may take up to 5 business days to reach you. Please schedule your exam according to this policy. You redeem vouchers when you go to register for the exam. There will be a specific spot to enter a voucher number as a payment method.

Testing Center

All exams need at least one form of primary ID. A Primary ID is a government-issued ID has your photo and signature on it, your name spelled correctly, and is not expired. Examples include a driver’s license or passport.

Some exams require a secondary form of ID. These ID’s need to state your name, have a signature, and is not expired. This includes a credit or debit card and hunting/fishing licenses.

You can confirm ahead of time with your exam sponsor or Pearson Vue about what IDs are required for your exam.

Cancellations or reschedule requests must be submitted at least 24 hours before your scheduled test time. Please reach out to your test sponsor or Pearson Vue for assistance cancelling or rescheduling your exam.

Items like cell phones, wallets, keys, jackets, purses, hats, water bottles, and study materials are not permitted in the testing center. They need to be left in the car or we have lockable drawers for you to store your belongings.

Labs

All our labs are delivered virtually. All “hands-on” lab work will be done through a virtual interface or web browser. However, online lab platforms vary between technologies and classes. Please contact us for specific class lab information.

To attend class and access the labs, you need the following items:

  • Video conferencing application if you are attending virtually and the link for it
  • Link or set of links to courseware
  • Lab access info

All lab information will be emailed to students a few days prior to the start of class.

Upon registration, students will receive instructions on how to get links to labs and other course materials. Students will have access to an online portal that contains everything they need for the course. Instructors thoroughly go through all lab information at the start of class.

Students receive the same experience whether they are attending class virtually or are in the classroom with the instructor. Access to the labs come with the courseware and can be started at the beginning of class.

Yes, students have commented that they have a better experience in class with two screens. They use one to watch the instructor and the other to perform lab work. Switching between screens can be a hassle so some students prefer the double screen view. This mostly applies to virtual students, although students in a live classroom have this capability as well.
