Course Overview

Administering Unified Communications Manager and Unity (AUCMU) covers day-to-day administration of CUCM 6/7 and Unity 5.  This includes moves, adds, changes, dial plan administration, user administration, and device administration for Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).  The course also covers subscriber administration, auto attendant administration, and feature administration for Unity.  In addition to all of this SLI has significantly improved our original course by adding unified mobility including device mobility, extension mobility, and mobility access into the curriculum.  We have also added sections in the Unity portion of the course that cover auto attendant, call recovery, message monitoring, and broadcast administration.   A large number of data and voice terminology and foundation technology is introduced. It is therefore preferable if students have a solid foundation in networking equivalent to CCNA level knowledge.

Why Take This Course From SLI?

  • Sunset Learning originally conceived and designed this course.
  • Special Features SLI has added to the curriculum include:
    • Mobility access – lets you use a cell phone in conjunction with our office phone.
    • Unified Mobility – treating cell phone as office phone, you can transfer the office phone to cell phone without missing a beat.
    • Extension mobility – allows you to log into a phone so that your extension goes wherever you do.
    • Call recovery – the ability to recover calls when you drop the call. You will be able to “get back to where you were before dropping the call, if you’re listening to voice mail.”
    • Message monitoring – you can retrieve call and pick up call while someone’s leaving you a voice message.
    • Phone view – allows you to use LCD phone display to listen to your most important voicemails.
    • IVR Functionality
    • Message broadcast administrator – for emergency notification (mass messages).
