Course Overview
This course is an advanced technical configuration of a Cisco Unified Communication (UC) environment and converged Internet Protocol Networks. The course presents an incremental approach to a well engineered and optimized Unified Communications network. The class focuses on the integration of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity and Cisco Presence. The lab topology and layout are created to closely simulate a customer's "real world" environment, allowing for the consideration of geographically disparate offices and users. The labs accommodate such factors as limited WAN bandwidth, voice, video and data protocol contention and the appropriate selection and operation of proprietary and industry standard VoIP protocols such as H.323, MGCP, SCCP and SIP. The class will focus on hands-on LABS that allow a student to learn and test a comprehensive knowledge base of skills and abilities required for the management of complex corporate networks.

Target Audience
The target audience for this class is for students who have comprehensive knowledge of the workings of IP networks and are looking for an advanced understanding of VoIP. Students enrolling in this class should have prior Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM), Cisco Unity and Cisco Router configuration experience. The class is intended to build on a student's existing knowledge base and to provide practical exercises that relate directly to solutions and situations they may encounter in the corporate IT environment. This class builds upon concepts that are delivered in the SLI Basics of Unified Communications (BUC) and the Administering Unified Communications (AUC) classes.
